Ulaanbaatar and Asia Foundation to expand cooperation

AKIPRESS.COM – Deputy Governor on Social Sector, Green Development, Air and Environmental Pollution O. Nominchimeg met with Asia Foundation’s Country Representative in Ulaanbaatar Mark Koenig and discussed future cooperation, GoGoMongolia reported.

The parties considered future cooperation in waste management and social sectors such as child protection, education, and health. They expressed readiness to suggest new proposals and initiatives and expand cooperation.

The Governor’s Office of Ulaanbaatar and the Asia Foundation cooperate in numerous areas, such as decentralization, rapid delivery of public services to citizens, digitalization, and strengthening the capacity of public servants and human resources.

The Urban Governance Project was successfully implemented in 2015-2022. In addition, the Asia Foundation has been implementing the “Books for Asia” program in Mongolia since 1994. This year, about 2,500 books in medicine, business, economics, literature, children, and cognition were handed over to the Governor’s Office for the book fund of educational institutions. Moreover, the Northeast Asian Mayors’ Forum has been jointly organized every two years since 2014.
