Indian star cricketer Virat Kohli plundered a record 765 runs in the ICC World Cup 2023, earning him the Player of the Tournament title. Kohli slammed three centuries and six half-centuries in the now-concluded tournament. Despite his batting heroics, Kohli found himself on the losing side when Australia beat India by 6 wickets in the final on Sunday, much to the disappointment of millions of fans in the cricket-obsessed nation.
As the overwhelming wait for India’s next ICC trophy continues, Kohli fans are eager to see if their favourite cricketer will partake in Men’s next ODI World Cup scheduled in 2027.
Will the 35-year-old cricketer be around for another 4 years?
Former spinning legend Muttiah Muralitharan from Sri Lanka believes fitness isn’t the only factor that will determine Kohli’s longevity. “How fit you are does not matter. Your eyesight, your things will slow down. Once you slow down, you’re not going to be the same personality,” Muralitharan noted on a podcast show hosted by Ranveer Allahbadia.

However, a lengthy Facebook post, that is currently doing the rounds of the Internet, has proved to be a perfect distraction for Kohli fans after the World Cup snub.
The post claims that Kohli’s form will dwindle for a period of about 18 months starting August 2025 all the way to February of 2027 before it comes back on track right in time for the World Cup 2027.
“Virat’s career will pick up in 2027 and he will retire on a very high note before March 2028,” the post read.
In case you are wondering, this viral post comes from a Facebook (Meta) page called “Stars and Astrology”. Shared on the platform back in the April of 2016, the astrologer’s post documents the different stages of Kohli’s personal and professional life since then.
From “predicting” Kohli’s wedding to Anushka Sharma in late 2017 (11 December) to speaking about cricketer’s lean period, the post titled “Analysis of Virat Kohli’s horoscope” has left one and many intrigued.
Additionally, the Facebook post talks about Kohli returning to form in a rather large window of 2021 to 2025, which does coincide with the real world events.
This was brought to our attention by an ‘X’ user who shared a screenshot of Kohli’s purported “future”.
It must be noted that Facebook allows its users to edit their posts even after they have hit the publish button. Once the analysis post of Kohli’s supposed horoscope went viral on ‘X’, users rushed to check if it had been altered after being made public in 2016. To their surprise, there was no “edit history” attached to the post.
