Houston Texans at Jacksonville Jaguars: Predictions, picks and odds for NFL Week 13 game

The Houston Texans are looking to claim their second consecutive division title, and a win this weekend over the Jacksonville Jaguars would do wonders for their hopes. Not only would it give them a win over a divisional foe, which always feels good, especially a week after losing one, but it would give the Texans, at worst, a two-game lead over the Indianapolis Colts with only five games to go.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have nothing left to play for this season except spite. They are 2-9, vying for the first overall pick, and while it certainly would be great if they could land that selection for the third time in five years, they’d probably trade it for the second or third pick if it meant putting Houston in their place this weekend.

Here are our experts’ predictions for this AFC South showdown.

Lorenzo Reyes: Texans 21, Jaguars 17

Houston has stumbled recently, and turnovers have been a big part. C.J. Stroud has been a little more careless with the ball. The Jaguars are coming off their bye. Honestly, I would look elsewhere, but I can see Jacksonville covering, especially if Trevor Lawrence returns.

Tyler Dragon: Texans 27, Jaguars 20

C.J. Stroud and the Texans had a head-scratching loss to the Titans. Look for them to rebound against the reeling Jaguars.

Richard Morin: Texans 30, Jaguars 10

Jacksonville could see the return of Trevor Lawrence, but will it make much of a difference against a superior Houston team? The Jaguars offense was struggling even before Mac Jones was forced into duty. Feel comfortable taking the Texans and the points here.

Jordan Mendoza: Texans 31, Jaguars 24

Does Houston have a problem? It hasn’t been playing great football, but Jacksonville is among the worst in the league. Look for this to be a get-right game for C.J. Stroud.
