Only the Elliott three count here. Despite French winner Kala Conti being the choice of Jack Kennedy, perhaps Sam Ewing’s mount CASHELDALE LAD might prove good enough having won a Punchestown Flat maiden for Andrew Kinirons in September.

Interesting race. Point winners Look To The West and Sainte Baol are of interest, as is French import Paggane, while Elliott first-string Magic Dawn can bounce back from a poor effort at Aintree in the spring. The one to beat though looks to be BIOLUMINESCENCE who ran into a good one when favourite for a Limerick bumper in March and can make amends here.

Any amount of deadwood here and hard to fancy most of them. Freddie Robdal off a lower hurdle mark and the mare Brownstone are among the more obvious, despite the latter’s below par run at Wexford on Friday. It might pay though to side with MO CHRUINNE(nap), who has to prove he handles the ground, but there was a bit to like about his stable debut here last time.

Not Gordon Elliott’s fault that this Grade 3 has such a farcical look about it and it is a sorry state of affairs that the other major yards could not come up with even one horse to compete for this. If all of his stand up, Elliott should have a clean sweep. Jack Kennedy’s choice CROKE PARK should be good enough, although the same owner’s Search For Glory could serve it up to him.

If SLANE HILL is fully tuned up for his return, he could be hard to beat having run a big race on chase debut when last seen and he’s run well in this sort of ground previously. Gordon Elliott’s quartet are headed up by Gortmillish who ran okay at Cheltenham last month and he’s less exposed than many of these having just his second run in a handicap.

Gordon Elliott has a remarkable 15 runners in this and the likes of Run Wild Fred and Hollow Games give the trainer a strong hand of landing his sixth renewal in the last ten years. Another one of his, Diol Ker, could also run well at a price but the ground will really play into the strengths of AIN’T THAT A SHAME for Henry de Bromhead. He’s had excuses in his last two runs, not seeing out the National trip and likely in need of a run in the Kerry National last time. However, this test looks ideal for him and there’s every chance he’s on a good mark. There’s also plenty to like about Limerick Lace who has looked progressive and is a potential improver over this new trip.

All of these lack a recent run. It’s probably telling that Willie Mullins sends the Champion Bumper runner-up FACT TO FILE straight over fences this season. He has the experience of a point win under his belt and has a decent French jumps pedigree too. Landrake is the likely danger if he transfers all his ability from hurdles to fences.

This can go the way of ONLY BY NIGHT who bolted up in similar ground on yard debut last month and she’s a big player with the likelihood she comes on for that run. The well bred Disco Dancer is an obvious danger for a yard that have plenty of bumper winners.
