Craft-Bamboo Racing has enlisted Mercedes-AMG factory driver Jules Gounon and reigning Fanatec GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS champion Anthony Liu for its first Asian Le Mans Series effort since 2014.

Gounon and Liu will share the cockpit of the No. 37 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo with Australian racer Jayden Oyeda, who drove Mercedes-AMG machinery in Fanatec GT World Challenge Australia powered by AWS this season.

Liu, meanwhile, became the first Chinese driver to win the Fanatec GT Asia title in September, teaming with Fabian Schiller and Daniel Juncadella throughout the course of the campaign.

“It’s great to be back with Craft-Bamboo Racing once again, this time for the Asian Le Mans Series,” Liu said.

“We’ve had some amazing races together and we hope to carry the momentum from our 2023 season. Jayden and Jules are fantastic drivers so I’m looking forward to getting the season started again.”

The Darryl O’Young-led operation last competed in the Asian LMS in 2014, when it completed a clean sweep of class wins fielding a Ligier JS53 prototype.

“We are really happy to be back on the Asian Le Mans Series grid,” said O’Young.

“Our team enjoys endurance racing as it pushes both the team and drivers to the limit in order to achieve a result.

“All three of our drivers have proven themselves to be strong and capable drivers, so we now must put it together as a team to maximize the points at each of the races on the calendar.

“There’s a lot of races in quick succession, but we will focus on one race at a time.”
