Sports Seriously
The Detroit Lions have established themselves as the team to beat in the NFC. Even with star pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson likely out for the season, the Lions haven’t skipped a beat, dominating everyone they come across. However, the most likely upsets often come from the most familiar foes. The Chicago Bears are looking to make that notion a reality this weekend.
Divisional opponents know you more than anyone else, after all, you have to play them twice a year. Can Chicago, fresh off one of their best offensive performances of the year, snap Detroit’s nine-game win streak? It’s the season of giving so perhaps Detroit could be in a festive mood, offering to give Chicago a glimmer of hope that they may reach the postseason.
Here are our experts’ predictions for this Thanksgiving showdown.

This is indeed a big line, but Detroit has been thoroughly dismantling all opponents it is facing. The Bears have been better the last two weeks with Thomas Brown running the offense, but Detroit outmatches Chicago across the board. While I wish the line was smaller, it’s hard to go against the most consistent team in football.
The Bears are playing better under new offensive coordinator Thomas Brown, but they’ve still lost five straight games and are in a tough portion of their schedule. No team in the NFL is playing better football than the Lions right now.
The Bears won’t be making the playoffs this season, but the team has been improving on offense with Caleb Williams. The other side of the ball, however, is still hit-and-miss. The Lions will feast all over the Chicago defense for a five-touchdown performance. Still, 10 points feels a bit steep for a late-season divisional game.
Until someone can prove it, it’s not worth betting against this incredible Lions team. The spread is large, but Detroit has won four of its last five by double-digits.
